Katrina Relief Trip! Work Study jobs!

– Apply for the Katrina Recovery Winter Break Trip! Students will travel to New Orleans from Bucknell University on January 5th and return to campus on the 12th. The group will stay at the Camp Hope Volunteer center and work with the St. Bernard Project. Other outings to the French Quarter, and local attractions will be included. Students are also required to attend 2 mini-curriculums in February. The cost of the trip is $650 and includes airfare, transportation, housing, and most meals. No student will be turned away based on an inability pay; subsidies are available. Want to find out more? Atttend an information session on Tuesday, Sept 23rd at 6pm in the Center Room, ELC.

Wild Goose Farm (2099 Beaver Run Rd, Lewisburg)needs volunteers to help with their Farm After Dark event on Saturday Sept 27th from 6-10pm! This event will involve a campfire and group games after dark.  Kick the Can, Sardines, Capture the Flag and the like will be the outdoor offerings.  Indoor in the barn small group games and board games will be offered.  Volunteers will be asked to help with the set up and clean up of the evening as well as be active participants in the games. Get Zombified for volunteer hours!
The Zombie Run will be held on Sunday, October 5th at Hufnagle Park. Volunteers are needed to help with many aspects such as set-up, dress up as zombies, be flaggers, etc.  Sign up here. OR do the  Zombie Run to benefit the Lewisburg Community Garden! sign up here.

– Each Tuesday and Thursday the Lewisburg Community Garden has open volunteer hours! Come for an hour or for the whole time! The garden is located at the corner of North Water Street and St. Anthony’s Street (by the Street of Shops). Interested volunteers should contact Kevin Zuidervliet at kz006@bucknell.edu. The garden is within walking distance from campus!!
