–Kids of the Kingdom Day School at Faith Lutheran Church in Lewisburg (on 45 across from Brookpark Village) needs volunteers for the events listed below. All volunteers must have all of their clearances.
- October 10th (Friday) from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm — Trike-a-thon Fundraiser (volunteers to supervise and a DJ are needed!),
- October 17th from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. — Parent’s Night Out (volunteers to play with the children–there will also be a teacher present)
–Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority needs volunteers to help with their family event at the Wooly Worm Festival (held in Hufnalge Park) on October 10th. Please contact Devyn Brosius firstname.lastname@example.org
The Lewisburg Prison Project is planning a fall Highway clean-up on Saturday October 18th, 10:30am, plan on 2 hours of volunteering. Meet at Dunkin Donuts, at the corner of HWY 15 and North 4th Street (before you get to the Weis, Dunkin Donuts is on the right hand side, 1 mile north of campus on HWY 15). -The Lewisburg Community Garden has additional volunteer hours! Volunteer hours are Mondays from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm, Tuesdays/Thursdays from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm.
– Apply for the Katrina Recovery Winter Break Trip! Students will travel to New Orleans from Bucknell University on January 5th and return to campus on the 12th. The group will stay at the Camp Hope Volunteer center and work with the St. Bernard Project. Other outings to the French Quarter, and local attractions will be included. Students are also required to attend 2 mini-curriculums in February. The cost of the trip is $650 and includes airfare, transportation, housing, and most meals. – Looking for something to do during Fall Break? Consider doing some service! Women’s Resource Center is sponsoring a trip, In Our Own Backyard Service Project on October 11-13, 2014. This year’s primary project will include assisting Transitions, a local agency that serves survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, as they prepare to open a new shelter home in Shamokin, PA, just 40 minutes away from Bucknell.
