Help fight hunger by attending Empty Bowls 2015: A focus on International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 19th. There will be two meal times, 11:30-2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Center Room! Hunger is everywhere; locally, nationally and internationally, and this year’s event focuses on how women are disproportionately affected by this issue. Empty bowls is a collaboration of the Office of Civic Engagement, 7th Street Studio, International Student Services, Women’s Resource Center, Parkhurst Dining Services, and local restaurants.
For $10, you will receive a hand-made clay bowl, bread and soup. This year’s soup donors include Elizabeth’s, Hotel Edison, Townside Garden Café, Ric-Mar Restaurant, Bull Run Tap House and Good Wil’s. Proceeds from the event benefit the Community Harvest Meal in Milton, a free hot meal program that serves 100 people every Monday evening. Tickets can be purchased at any Campus Box Office location starting March 2nd through the Campus Box Office or at the event (cash, check or BU ID).
