On March 19th volunteers are needed to help with setup ticket sales and clean up from the Empty Bowls program in the Center Room (ELC). Help is needed from 9:00-10:30 am for set up, 12:00-1:00 for tickets sales help and from 6:30-8:00 pm for ticket sales and clean up help. Please contact Lynn with the time(s) you are available.
– Help fight hunger by attending Empty Bowls 2015: A Focus on International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 19th. There will be two meal times, 11:30-2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Center Room! Hunger is everywhere; locally, nationally and internationally, and this year’s event focuses on how women are disproportionately affected by this issue.
For $10, you will receive a hand-made clay bowl, bread and soup. Proceeds from the event benefit the Community Harvest Meal in Milton, a free hot meal program that serves 100 people every Monday evening. -Save the Date for the annual Spring Thaw Out, on April 10th from 3:00-5:00 pm and April 11th from 9:00-11:00 am, where students can take part in a variety of volunteer opportunities in the Lewisburg area. Please visit here for more information!
-Celebrate the beginning of Spring on the morning of Saturday, March 21st at the historic Dale/Engle/Walker farmhouse and trail. The time to assemble is 9 AM on the site at 1471 Strawbridge Road, outside of Lewisburg. Done by noon with a hot beverage and snacks midway as we work on the yard, invasive plants, and trail edge cleaning if possible. Tools and gloves are provided. If you are emailing on behalf of a group of volunteers, please indicate the number joining you for this effort. Alternative date in case of extreme weather will be Saturday, April 4th, same time.
– Adopt a Highway Clean Up on Saturday March 28th, 10:30am and plan on 2 hours of volunteering. Meet at Dunkin Donuts, where we can park, at the corner of HWY 15 and North 4th Street (before you get to the Weis, Dunkin Donuts is on the right hand side, 1 mile north of campus on HWY 15).
