Walks, volleyball tournaments, making apple butter and museum help!

Christ’s United Lutheran Church (13765 Old Turnpike RoadMillmont PA  17845) is sponsoring a 24 hour charity volleyball tournament from Friday, September 18 at 5:00 pm to Saturday, September 19 at 5 pm to support Kelsey’s Dream, Team Taylor and the Wounded Warrior Project. Or volunteer to help set up and with the food stand. To sign up a team or volunteer, contact Rev. John Yost at 570-837-9232.

– The annual Heart Walk needs volunteers on Saturday, September 12th from 7 am until 1 pm in Hufnagle Park in Lewisburg. Volunteers will help in the set up and break down, work children’s activities and be crossing guards along the walk path. The path of the walk is 1.3 miles and goes past to Bucknell. Silfer House Museum in Lewisburg will be hosting its annual porch sale on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26 to raise funds for the museum, a non-profit organization. We are in need of volunteers from Thursday, Sept. 24 through Saturday, Sept. 26. Thursday and Friday will be our set up and organization days, while Saturday we will need people to actually oversee the sale. Jobs that we need help with throughout these days include creating sale displays, pricing items, overseeing the sales floor, cashiering, and helping to move items. Volunteers are needed on Saturday from 8 a.m. till 1 p.m. and on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. till 12 p.m. or other arrangements can be made to accommodate availability. – Volunteers are needed to help make apple butter for the Apple Butter Festival in New Columbia on Friday, October 2nd and Saturday, October 3rd. The work shifts are: Friday, October 2nd 4:00- 8:00 p.m. 8:00 pm – 12 midnight and the on Saturday, October 3rd: Midnight – 4:00 am, 4:00 -8:00 am and 8:00 am to 12 noon.
