Fall clean ups! Football games and holiday programs!

-Save the Dates! The holiday programs will be starting soon!  Turkey and Trimmings Basket DUE DATE November 17th!!
Help us reach our goal of providing a basket for 120 local families. Baskets should include enough items that would feed a family of 4. Suggested items are stuffing, potatoes, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, gravy, and a gift card to a local store for a turkey. Weis cards are sold in our office! The Giving Tree goes up on November 6th. Stop by and select a snowflake tag and purchase a gift for a local resident. Program details here.

-Like football! Help at the concession stand and see part of the game on Friday nights!! – Volunteers are needed to help at the concession stand during Lewisburg Football games on 10/30. Volunteers need to arrive at 5:45 pm to the concession stand for instructions. To sign up contact John Shaw at johnhshawiv@yahoo.com.This is on campus so you can walk to it!

-Help out with this year’s Bison Bruiser! This year, the event will take place on Saturday, October 31st from 11AM-2PM.  Volunteers are needed to help run the obstacles from 10:15-3PM, food will be provided.Sign up here. Questions? Help clean up our local area! Volunteers are needed for the River Town Community Clean Up on Sunday, Nov 1, from 2 to 4pm, starting from Kidsburg Playground in Hufnagle Park.Volunteers should meet at the Kidsburg Playground in Hufnagle Park (55 South Fifth Street Lewisburg PA 17837)

-FALL WORK EFFORT at historic site and hiking trail: 9-noon, Saturday November 14, 2015. Come and celebrate the Fall on the morning of Saturday, November 14 at the historic Dale/Engle/Walker farmhouse and trail. The time to assemble is 9 AM on the site at 1471 Strawbridge Road, outside of Lewisburg.  Done by noon with a hot beverage and snacks midway as we work on the yard, invasive plants, and trail edge cleaning if possible.  Tools and gloves are provided.  E-mail: lasansky@bucknell.edu by 11/ 7th so we know how many are coming and for answers to any questions you might have.  If you are emailing on behalf of a group of volunteers, please indicate the number joining you for this effort.  Alternative date in case of extreme weather will be Saturday,November 21, same time.

-The Lewisburg Arts Council needs volunteers for its Silent Art Auction on Friday, November 6, in downtown Lewisburg. We need help with transporting art items, setup, monitoring, calling bidders, and cleanup. The auction runs from 6 to 9; setup begins at 4:45 and cleanup is over by 10 pm. If you would like to help out sometime during that time period – or for the entire event – please contact Sara Kelley at skelley@bucknell.edu. Please contact her before November 1 to volunteer.

-Girls On The Run has their Fall 5K on November 14th  at Susquehanna University. Volunteers needs are as follows: Fri., Nov 13, 6-9pm to asset with setting up the pre-race expo in the field house. This involves the moving of large tables, arranging items on said tables, assembling a temporary store, and hanging banners. Sat., Nov 14, 7:30-10am to staff the race course – volunteers are given safety vests, emergency cards, instructions, and placed at intersections along the course.
