Be a Girls On The Run Coach! Attend the Community Service Fair!

-Come and meet some of our local nonprofits and find out about volunteer opportunities! The Community Service and Involvement Fair is on January 27th from 5:30-7:00 pm in the Terrace Room. 1-2 Volunteers are also needed to help with registration and other tasks. **Individuals are needed to help serve the weekly Community Harvest meal on February 1st from 4:45-6:30 p.m. Volunteers should arrive no later than 4:45 pm and clean up is finished at 6:30 pm. -It is time for the annual POLAR BEAR PLUNGE ! Join Lewisburg and Bucknell community members to take a dip in the mighty Susquehanna River! – Do you have experience throwing on the pottery wheel? Are you willing to donate your time and talents to a great cause? Join us this Saturday, January 30, between 12noon and 5pm as we try to rach our goal of making 100 bowls for the Empty Bowls Project. Each year 7th Street Studio and the Office of Civic Engagement collaborate to raise funds and awareness to help fight hunger in our Lewisburg Area. We need 100 more bowls for the banquet that is scheduled for March.If you can help out, please send you name to gheuges@bucknell.edu to save a space on the pottery wheel.

-Volunteers are needed at the Lewisburg Arts Council Art Sale at Barnes & Noble Community Room on Saturday, February 6 from 1 to 4 – help needed noon to 5. We need people to help carry items from storage space; set up the sale; monitor sales and help patrons; and help clean up at the end. We don’t need many – 6 or so will be enough. Girls on the Run of the Greater Susquehanna Valley is currently looking for volunteer coaches for our Spring 2016 season.  The program will begin the week of March 7 and continue through May 14.  Volunteer coaches will be working with girls in grades 3 through 5 after school two days a week. The girls learn important lessons about bullying, self esteem, body image and peer pressure while being physically active and training for a 5K race.  is currently looking for volunteer coaches for our Spring 2016 season.  The program will begin the week of March 7 and continue through May 14.  Volunteer coaches will be working with girls in grades 3 through 5 after school two days a week. Volunteer Coach Description:

Must be able to meet with the girls one or two times a week at the designated school

Coaches will follow a curriculum provided to them at a coaches training

Coaches will spend time with the girls interacting, talking and having fun!

Volunteers can coach at a site near Bucknell University within walking distance, but those with transportation are also GREATLY needed

Must be available between 2:30 and 5 p.m. weekday afternoons
