Mardi Gras fundraiser! Lewisburg Arts Council needs volunteers!

There will be a Mardi Gras party at Uptown on Tuesday, February 9. The Folk Justice Band, featuring Bucknell Professors Brian King, Steve Jordan, and Geoff Schneider, will perform. Refreshments will be provided, including “King Cake” (the traditional food of Mardi Gras) and “mocktail” versions of Louisiana cocktails to bring the Southern spirit. All proceeds from ticket sales and any additional donations will go to the St. Bernard Project, the Katrina Recovery Team’s service partner in New Orleans. Tickets are $7 for Bucknell students, and $10 for anyone else.
Date – Tuesday, February 9th (official date of Mardi Gras)
Time – 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Location – Uptown
Cost – $7 for Bucknell students, $10 for non-students
Tickets – Tickets will be available for purchase starting February 2 at the Campus Box Office, online at www.bucknell.edu/boxoffice, or via phone at 570-577-1000. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door the night of the event (cash, check, or Bucknell ID)

-Volunteers are needed at the Lewisburg Arts Council Art Sale at Barnes & Noble Community Room. Saturday, February 6 from 1 to 4 – help needed noon to 5. We need people to help carry items from storage space; set up the sale; monitor sales and help patrons; and help clean up at the end. We don’t need many – 6 or so will be enough. Girls on the Run of the Greater Susquehanna Valley is currently looking for volunteer coaches for our Spring 2016 season.  The program will begin the week of March 7 and continue through May 14.  Volunteer coaches will be working with girls in grades 3 through 5 after school two days a week.
