Clean ups! Holiday Programs and more!

Volunteers are needed on Friday, November 3rd for Stroll through the Arts set up.  Tasks include: assemble and deliver luminaries (little bags with candles and sand inside) to participating downtown merchants and businesses, along with some flyers. Volunteers should meet on the front steps of the Post Office at 1:30 pm and continue until finished. Assist Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority, Clean Ups and more!

Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority has a number of volunteer needs: Spooktacular Trunk or Treat: Sunday, October 29th from 4-7pm We are in need of volunteers to help with our 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat Spooktacular. The event is held at the Cellars at Brookpark.  GPS address, 50 Brookpark Circle Lewisburg.   This event is two events in one.  We have a free Trunk or Treat in the parking lot, where kids trick or treat from car to car.  There is a free costume contest with trophies at 5:30pm also in the lot.  Inside the Cellars there is a Spooktacular Halloween Carnival.  […]

Welcome Back from Break!!

Volunteers are needed for a Community Cleanup scheduled for Sunday, October 29, from 2 to 4pm, meeting at Kidsburg in Hufnagle Park (downtown Lewisburg).  Cleanup will be dependent on conditions that day and number of volunteers available, but will include space along waterways in town, Bull Run Neighborhood streets and alleys, and possibly the railroad tracks. -The weekly Community Harvest Hot Meal Program is looking for volunteer groups and individuals to serve the meal at 5:00 on the the dates: September 18th, October 2nd, October 23th, October 30th, November 27th and December 4rd. Girls On the Run needs coaches!

 Warm-up your spirit fingers, lace up your sneakers and inspire a group of girls to be strong and healthy. Teams of volunteer coaches facilitate our easy to follow curriculum with groups of 8-15 girls over the course of 10-12 weeks. Amidst the conversation, laughter, hugs and energy awards, you will witness transformational change in the girls and don’t be surprised if you realize that you are positively changing as well! – The After-School Tutoring Program is seeking work study eligible students who have afternoon availability, a desire to work with children, and strong organizational skills to fill open work study positions. You’ll work closely with an outstanding group of volunteers and directly with children grades K-12 from the Lewisburg School District at two local affordable housing complexes. We have 40 agencies attending from hospitals to animal welfare agencies. – Take the Plunge! The Polar Bear Plunge will take place on February 4th at 2:00 pm at the St. George Street ramp. -Volunteers are needed for a volleyball tournament fundraising event Lewisburg High School (815 Market St., Lewisburg, PA) on November 1st. Volunteers will help run the 9th grade food concession stand and possibly refereeing some of the games. Volunteers should arrive at 6:00 and are needed until 9:00 pm.
