-One of our annual events —  Stroll through the Arts/Dance to the Music — is less than a month away, and we need help getting the word out! We are looking for volunteers to each distribute a dozen posters in or around town. Most of the posters are slated to go to downtown merchants, so you could help out your adopted community, get your daily “steps” in, and earn community service hours all at the same time!  Some posters need to go to places like Giant, Weis, and Wal-Mart … so if you have your own transportation, this might be a good fit for you.

We’d love to have all of the posters “claimed” by the end of this week and distributed by mid-month. Posters may be picked up at Faustina’s, 229 Market Street, Lewisburg, (570) 524-5080, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am – 5 pm.  A call beforehand to let the owner know you’ll be stopping by to pick them up is always appreciated!

If you can help, please contact Della Hutchison, Volunteer Coordinator for the Lewisburg Arts Council, at hutchnsn@bucknell.edu

– The Lewisburg Community Garden is very close to campus and will host open volunteer hours next week every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m as weather permits. Consider volunteering alone, or with a group of your friends. Kids are welcome. Please dress appropriately for working outside (closed-toe shoes, clothes that can get dirty, layers of clothes to stay warm or sunblock and hat to stay cool) and bring a water bottle. Volunteers are welcome to come and go as their schedule allows – it is not necessary to stay the entire time, and any help is appreciated! The garden is located on the Southeast Corner of the North Water Street and St. Anthony’s Street intersection, near Wolfe Field and the Street of Shops. Please contact Jen Partica jsp030@bucknell.edu at with questions, or to sign up to volunteer!
